yeah with £4k you wouldn't get a ibiza, maybe a leon, but it would be a very poor golf to, i think with that budget you'd be better off with a vts/106gti. You'll get a mint one. i'd prefer a mint 106 over a shabby golf.

nice, but i bet the insurance would be an issue, i was going to suggest a subaru for £4k but i bet the insurance would be ridiculous.

I was paying £1400 on my 328i coupe when i was 18, under my own name. I think people automaticly assume that insurance will be sky high.

Without sounding offensive because this applies to me to, or should at least.
I think you'd chose the golf because it looks a little more mature and refind, more of the husband and father type image, than the boy racer image of the 106 right?
I love the 106, but i'd probably end up getting the golf for the whole babyseat image to work
Even so, i think nexted you should get a 106gti

well don't get a 206 gti, that tb'd saxo i'm sure would be a good match (depending on your mods), the golf would be sooooo slow in standard form (remap needed). standard 106 wouldn't be as quick in a straight line i wouldn't of thought, but with a few mods i'm sure it could be (same as saxo i suppose).
TBH i went from a 200bhp ibiza to the 106 gti and i think it's awesome, 1st, 2nd and 3rd i wouldn't of said there's much in it, over 80/90mph the ibiza would of slaughtered it. i love 106's but can i ask why your selling your corsa???

RHD mate.
Thats fooking cheap and looks gorgeous!!!! Mileage???
I tried insuring my brothers 318is which i thought was lovely plus i knew he had looked after it (being a mech) and he only wanted £2k from me but they wanted £2600 when i was 18 with 1 years driving exp. which i thought was stupid considering my ibiza was £1800.

yeah!!! But it hasn't got a blower on it!!! where as the ibiza was low down grunt and all gone by 6000rpm, the pug still pulls at 7000rpm!! where is your rev limiter???
