they dont need to alterthem much .. in a chase they always have the advatage anyway .. blues n twos! .. ppl dont move out the way for the car there chaseing .. unless its a scroat in a metro and then he just has to go across abit of grass and they dont want to chase .. .. plus on the motorway an old volvo would be just as quick as the evo

sportyboy-exactly, they have no interest in tuning cars, waste of money and resources, they will never chase at certain speeds anyway so car with balls out performance is unnecessary, they just call in chopper and follow at distance

I spent a fair old while with the CMPG at Coleshill, cover most of the motorways in this area.
The cars are uprated, better suspension to cope with the loads they carry and touring car specification brakes (direct from Volvo on those cars). They have engine mods such as chips and cams, but nothing too serious as the cars have to last a minimum of 170,000 miles in their service lifetime.

What really pisses me off though, is the amount of BMWs, Range Rovers and stuff. They really are a waste of money IMO
Range Rovers fair enough for off-roading and clearing accidents, moving lorrys etc, even though that is what the Highways Agency Patrol is for now.
Range Rover, off road? Never. They have road tyres on them for starters. They have a contract with On Time to move lorrys. Would love to see a Range Rover pull a lorry too

I don't see it as a waste of money tbh. I'd rather my tax went on something that could catch thieving scum who take a high performance car. Going to better use than the money to fix the roads anyway
