To be honest, I wouldn't go too far for a private sale - going to a dealer wouldn't be so bad because you have a certain sense of security with the deal etc.

If it was a car I genuinely wanted, and knew the seller was genuine, would probs travel anywhere in the UK for it...I also love road trips

yeah that aint his one,

but seriously no1 can say, if you like it u have to decide wether its worth the trip, personally if i'd spotted a car i want down your way i'd come down to see it, i mean its not just any old corsa sport is it?/

if it was then fair enough you could find another identical,

just phone up and ask heaps of questions, i had a guy from orkney come to buy a car off me, that was a £80 ferry ticket & £25 train ticket to get here

then £200 odd quid to get the car back to his island

if u like/want it go for it

I went from Lancashire to Anglesea to look at my car, took about 2.5 hours each way. Went to look at it on a sat afternoon and collected it on a tuesday night. So did about 10 hours driving in the end.

What we should have done though is take a bankers draft with us and just handed it over and took the car home the same day as the lad would've taken it. But we did'nt think of that at the time. Would've saved another trip all the way there.

I got a lift to Yorkshire to buy my polo and drive it back. Got it off ebay and had only seen it in pictures. Turned out to be BETTER than how the seller described

I drove from Plymouth to Southport to pick up an RX7 . I joked about taking a fuse out to pretend it was broken down and get it towed back. 20 miles from Liverpool it blew up and I had to get it towed anyway

The car spent more time in the first two months on the back of a lorry than it did on the road
