haha very funny.

All your comments seem positive. The only reason I don't sit at 80mph ish is that the revs do seem so high as if you're ragging the engine. I've driven at 80mph overtaking before. Yes it sits fine at that speed but I simply don't like how high the revs are!

cruise at whatever speed you feel comfortable at, nobody should be cruising at 80 anyway seeing as the speed limit is 70

I drove from my house to Southampton and back in ym 1.0... When I got back there was only a litre of oil left in it. This was mainly due to it needing a new engine

It will make it mate. My 12v has done 91k and got to Aberdeen and back (about 350miles) sitting at 70 most of the way with the Engine Management Light on Made it with no problems at all

Nice. I have full AA cover (courtesy of going on my dads policy - apparently I joined in 1983, 4 years before I was born) so if I have any problems won't be like I'm stranded. Will just f*ck the weekend up instead!

I wouldnt worry too much about the revs really either, as long as its warm and below the redline it isnt really going to matter a whole lot.

Whenever i do long drives in my corsa (1.4 8v) i sit at 70 with the rev counter showing exactly 3000rpm. However, the 2 main reasons for that are because its the speed limit and im a cheap bastard and dont want to use too much petrol

I got a trip coming up soon up to Tamworth (from Cardiff)...I got concerns because it's a new engine install

It's only 128 miles but there's 3 camera blackspots on the way up according to the AA routeplanner Should be okay I'm guessing but still.....

haha that is what I'm also like. The higher the revs i.e. sitting at 70 it is going to use a lot more petrol - plus I'd only lose 10 miles per hour so going at 70 won't make up that much time.

It will be frustrating on the M6 Toll though as police cars are normally non-existent!
