well all i know in my mates experince it went up slightly.

Different companies might operate slightly different

Personally I wouldn't go through the insurance providing see agrees in a written docuemnt to a pay you as it will just be another statistic for insurance companies

Yes I just learned this. Someone reversed into me in May and even though I claimed on his insurance, mine has gone up this year even though I have 4 years NCB...

^^^ probably just usual insurance hike that happens everyyear

NO decent insurance company will charge you over your premium for handling a 3rd party claim, WTF do you think you pay your premium for

the only exception to this is if it goes to court and incurs legal fees

Steve,

You can say this time and time again....but the fact is I know plenty of people who have fallen foul of premium hikes due to claims on others policies.

It might not be on every policy...but ive a good mate who took Hill house hammond to court about it.

Go figure.

I have known it happen actually, but regardless, we all know how evil insurance companies can be, that womans excess fee might even amount to the damage anyway, so just get a quote on getting it done and then tell her the price and see if she pays out. I've done this before and so have alot of mates, and its a much better way forward IMO.

True.

Unfortunately, these days the very least is that the accident parties will make a note of your number plates.

If the other (at blame) party makes an enquiry about a claim you're fucked anyway.

It's a no win situation really
