Next point, how far in advance can you get an MOT done on a car? Mines due at the beginning of December, but no one is going to buy a car with a month and a half MOT left really....

Pretty sure you can MOT a car whenever you want, but if it's before a certain time, the 12 months will start from the date of the MOT, not the renewal.
Also like the bit about Fiat "not being able to stop a production line" . Says alot about their reputation if their prepared to let cars go out the door with known faults!

It's the same with every car manufactured in scale. You cannot stop a production line thats producting something like 200 cars an hour. Especially as they will have things coming in 'just in time'. It is impossible and every car manufacturer has this problem. It costs them less to have the dealers fix the problems before the car gets sold on or do a recall.
