Romantic meal - clichéd to fuck!
Do something different, something more personal, something a bit special - don't think that it has to cost loads.
For example, if you live near the coast ask if she wants to go for a walk along the prom (if the weather is reasonable) if not then ask if she wants to goto park and feed the ducks or something.
Think outside the box and don't take the obvious choices all the time

Yes that is a good idea. A walk by the sea at night, very romantic... unless its Blackpool of course.

Let her take you out somewhere and make her pay for everything, then say you have to go and drive off leaving her there stranded.

this is what i'd do. just a regular meal, make it romantic and its cliche, my gf hates the idea of being romantic surrounded by strangers in a large dinning room. don't make a fuss about the meal then go for a romantic walk, at least taht bit is just the two of you and private.
best of luck

Taking a girl out to Nandos is like taking a girl to McDonalds, or giving her a bottle of Coke for her birthday.
