Yeah ours is two weeks since we got these new bins, but there are 4 adults who live there all the time, and Im round with the GF most weekends so after a week we struggle to shut it anymore!

It gets better the more you can re-cycle.....we now do (off the top of my head) cardboard, glass, paper, garden waste, tins....and at the tip - clothes, plastic bottles and loads of other stuff.

I live on my own, and dont generate more that two tescos bag fulls of 'normal' rubbish in a fortinight.

My bin is still usually overflowing cos other barstewards can't be arsed to re-cycle though

I would recycle more if it was a bit easier. I'm just lazy.

If i had a bin for different materials, then i would use them.

As I mentioned above though, we have 3 large bins for plastic, glass and paper. Most food goes in a compost and we have use the green bin for the garden waste. Infact we recycle more of less everything we can but due to the house size/number of adults, etc we still need another bin!

we recycle, glass, plastic, paper and have a green bin for garden waste, but our general rubbish bin is always full every 2 weeks and the coucil wont give us another!!! i mean there is 4 adults in our house, over 2 weeks that means the council thinks we should only be throwing away 1/4 of a bin full per person per fortnight!!!!!

whereas the pikeys now get their rubbish collected and only have to leave the bin bags on side of the road. They pay no tax, dont recycle, fly tip and yet its the general public who do make an effort thats getting targeted

It's funny, we had the same moans in my area (me being one of the loudest) but a couple of years in, it just seems to be working easier....

One thing the council *may* be able to do is give you a bigger bin, that's helped some enormously.

As has getting used to crushing absolutely everything

actually the binman doesnt lift the bin at all so he wouldnt have a clue how heavy it was.

They wheel it to the lorry, the arm comes out and picks up slightly off the floor, weighs it then says it either dumps the rubbish or puts it down as it too heavy
