my 'sister' has just turned 16 last month....she got engaged to a lad whos 21 (he'd slept with three of her mates when they were 14-15). she was convinced they were soo happy and goina spend the rest of their lives together having been with each other 6 month.....now split up and hes shagging one of her mates i warned her at the beginning, but she sorta shunned me away, said shes old enough to knwo what shes doing, theyre in love etc......last week she apologised to me and admitted i was right. we all make mistakes at young age, think we're older and more mature than we are, she loved the fact of 21 year old bloke with car etc.

I went out with a 16 year old gal when i was 19 n half, saw her a couple of times, decided she was one of the rare "mature" 16 year olds, she acted it, we got together and OH how my opinion changed after a month and half ended it. she was FAR to immature . But she looks fit in the picture  just id say that she could seem alright, nice, mature etc but it could change pretty quick.

trust me people dont think there is much difference in personality, maturity ect as its only a few years but there is such a difference its unreal.
I had to attend an as level class last year with 16 year olds and im 20, my god i could have killed them all, the majority were total attension whores or thought they were gods gift, and pretty much every one of them "knew it all".
I couldnt even think about hanging about with a 16 year old and im 21 now.

I think maturity is dependant on the person to an extent.
I was/am far more mature than my mates, due to the shite i went through when i was 15/16.
but 90% of girls who are "mature" aren't.
