Wouldnt entertain a P1 purely for insurance and running costs; these are also so Rare and can see them becoming collectable. Looked at the Boxter and the s2k and the M came out on top

Its not to bad, only a £300 service every 20K and a cheap oil service in between, vanos has been done and insuramce is quite cheap; not much goes wrong with beemers so cheaper than its rivals to maintain

Insurance was 1st thing that attracted these to me, and the fact i could pretend to be james bond, and they just look so fucking cool with 4 exhausts and they are tiny!

I take it you're using an independent for that price? Inspection 2 is £450 on a non M car at main dealer before any extra parts.....

Yeh BMW specialist in Bristol, ex BMW technicians. Having an inspection 1 and BMW wanted £600 + VAT as valves need setting; apart from that the inspection 1 is just oil and filter!!!

Well the inspection includes an oil and filter change along with a huge list of additional checks which could lead to further expense if found to be at fault. Last time I had my 328 serviced one of the lambda sensors was faulty and had to be replaced, £150 just for the part. luckily with a BMW serious faults are rare.

Yeh, but then you get those sort of risks with any other car. I accounted for the price of the service at BMW when i bought the car and am taking it to the specialist sop even if it needs a few other things it shouldnt go over the £600+ VAT i accounted for.

My car is due an inspection 2 in 2000 miles but is only 400+vat, which isnt too bad, just hope they dont find any other problems, the quailty of the bm is leauges ahead of most european manufacturers.

S2K is my Dads; porker is just parked at work, only had an astra Turbo inbetween

The main price increase on the m3 engine is the setting of all 24 valves manually; it is booked as a 4.5 hour service!!!

very nice cars, we had one nicked about 2 years ago from work!
we are a BMW specialist for body repairs!

and for cheaper services u will find that alot of the guys who are technicians at BMW will do private stuff on the side but still do it at work in there own time and are a hell of alot cheaper!
