I don't think 2 years is enough. 4 minimum I reckon so that your teeth grow in a different way.

doesn't make do different how long you have a brace on for there is still chance your teeth can move back if they are not retained (which basically means if you want to keep your straight teeth you have to wear your retainer forever!) if you have in surgery whitening it shouldnt hurt my patients complain of slight sensitivity but that is all!

I have an appointment on Thurs with my Orthodontist, I've had a small brace on my bottom teeth for a year. It's due to come off anytime now.

Please don't tell me I'll now need to wear a retainer for X amount of time to keep them straight I thought you only needed the retainer at night for a few months after your brace came out

Mines are nice and straight now, but don't like the thought of them going squint again if I don't wear a retainer

it depends what your othodontist tells you, we advise patients to wear a retainer all the time for 6 months then at night time for as long as you want to!

and as for the sensitivity whilst whitening....

I was getting what was almost like electric shocks through my teeth whilst getting it done. Really was uncomfortable.

My front 4 teeth top andbottom are a bit wonky and I was told I should have a brace but I told the dentist to G TF at the time

kinda wish I had got them now as they would have come off a long time ago and I would have straighter teeth

braces off when you're 15?

I was told that your teeth don't actually stop growing until about 22/23.

yeah sort of right but they're still gonna move! what my sis has done is wear her brace 6months al time, 6months every night then she just wears it every other night! if your retainer feels its getting tighter its coz your teeth are moving so you should wear it more not less!
