Think I am quite lucky where I live as there hasn't been a car stolen round here for years.

And Kendal where I travel to work had a car stolen the other week for the 1st time in months, if not over a year. Still doesn't mean I am lax over security though

Its the same where my parents are, but not worth risking when you have over 150k's worth of cars on the drive for the sake of a few hundred quid.

Already got CCTV put up after my mums car was keyed twice in the drive, that soon stopped that!

My girlfriends parents have had CCTV installed at their house too since they got their new car.

Everytime I pull onto the drive I know I'm being watched. Cant scratch my arse or anything without them seeing

People opposite my house got broken into at the weekend, whilst they were with my parents in the garden, they took keys to his brand new Land Cruiser, laptops etc, lucky that they didnt come back later and nick the car. He's having the ECU/Locks changed, its costing £4300

it is quite possibile to defend your house with any means all you need to do is whack intruder with large bat, pole plank of wood etc.
once they are lying on the ground in a heap get someone to hit you on the head maybe couple times on leg for some bruises then stick said bat in intruders hand

you dont even need them to hit you for it to be self defence, if they are holding a weapon then thats enough.

or you beat an intruder, wen they are on the floor, put them at the bottom of the stairs and say they fell when you found them upstairs..
