not saying it wont sell for more, if you find the right buyer, but its worth less to the market as a whole
he's not selling to a market as a whole though, i'm sure Martin doesn't expect some gran to come along and buy his car.

obviously you lot are gonna argue the toss because you dont like to think your modded cars are worth less, but they are, for instance you replace your high grade plastic bumpers for cheap, weak fibreglass, essentially a downgrade, many garages arent interested in modded cars for part ex;s, why is this? because they know they are hard to shift, and what happens when something wont sell? you have to drop the price, its hardly rocket science

Modded cars aren't worth anything much. If you own one, you're in it for the long haul.

is every single body modification on martins car not made from sheet metal? essentially an upgrade with your reasoning. Sure I read that somewhere

im not saying it wont sell for more, you asked what it was worth, i told you, if people pay more than what its worth so be it, buts its only worth that much to that person.
modded cars are harder to shift because less people want them, simple demand and supply stuff

your telling me what you would pay for it, but as you do not want to buy my car, and cannot think of a price that someone looking to buy a car like mine would pay, your opinion is worthless.
its a shame you're losing so much sleep over it.

im not losing sleep just laughing at your deluded perspective of how modded cars are not worth any more than normal ones.
No your right im not looking at how much a person looking to buy your car would pay because thats not a feasible method of working out how much something is worth, thats just guessing at what it might carry in "sentimental" value to someone. Because out of say 500 people, say 40 people may be willing to part with more money for it, but the remaining 460 dont want a modded car and would steer clear, or be willing to buy it cheaper and spend the cash theyve saved putting it back to standard, on average, out of that market scenario, the car is worth less.
Your not taking into consideration the thousands that would not touch your car with a barge pole.
I will reiterate, I am not saying your car wont sell for more, I am saying how much it is worth to the car sales market place as a whole.
Look at it another way, my mum could have a 10 carat gold ring that belonged to my recently deceased grandmother. To her that ring is worth 1000's in sentimental value,, but to other people out side the family the ring is worth...well however much the going rate for a cheap gold ring is these days.
Your not understanding the difference between sentimental value, and actual value to the whole marketplace.

and you are not understanding that i am not trying to sell it to the entire current market, i am well aware that there is a limited number of people who would want to purchase my car. which is why is has been portrayed as such, and not a great little roundabout for your nan.
a small minority of people are quite often willing to spend that little bit extra for a car that has had thousands spent on it, and is ready to take to shows/cruises.
if 1000 people in the uk are looking for a corsa c at any time, and 5% of them are looking for a modified one, then thats all i need.

Steve, its obvious you don't like the car, as you're not like this with other people when they say about selling theirs.
Martin has set the price at 6k. he thinks its worth that, and to be honest, I think its worth it.
I'm convinced it'll sell for that money, the market is there, its a nice car, and you arguing with Martin about his pricing is pointless.
Grow up.

its not that steve doesnt like it i think on the whole he is just saying that people often over-value their own cars
good luck with the sale, hope you get what you want

Steve, why do you argue all the time though, we all know what your saying but you are ignoring the issue that its worth what someone will pay for it. Martin is more interested in someone wanting a modded car and his valuation of his car than someone like you saying its worth less to the majority of buyers such as garages etc.
You can't say modifications de-value a car, thats too vague, certain mods such as silly fibre glass bumpers do yes, but others don't such as upgrade type mods that could be found on higher spec cars of the same type. If i had a poverty spec bmw and i fitted it with loads of M3 bits, there is no way that would de-value it. What you can say is that it narrows down the market as it will be deemed a modded car, that is for certain. And you can say that he won't get the money back he paid for the mods in full as well.
Don't see why you have to argue the toss all the time though.
