right
mine (pics in my garage) was to date the best car ive owned
mine was fantastic car, better to drive than any corsa, mine was lowerd 35mm on eibachs and was still confotable
when remapped it was 84/85bhp (cant remember) and 196lb/ft, ran a 16.4 and is quicker than a 286bhp rst (to an 1/8rth of a mile )
it also had fantastic mpg, and baring an emmsions problem which was on going as work couldnt find time to fix it, very reliable

If you compare like for like it would be Lupo GTi Versus Mini Cooper S
Both great cars and both retain value but having only driven the Mini Cooper S I would go for that as it was very quick as standard easy to tune and as much as I hold my own opinion i highly rate Evo's recomendation as one of the greatest hot hatches you can buy today.
Also from talking to JR from what I heard you get in a Lupo GTi the Mini has a better spec
Dont get me wrong I do absolutelyu love Lupos and what can be done to them

Lupos can be had from 6k + Insurance on a Cooper S would be too high!

Absolutelly!!!!!
As mentioned depends on year and comparing models like for like
03 Cooper S with 28k miles £8.5 k
04 luupo Gti with 33k miles £8,995
so Lupos are still expensive, however if it was a comparison against a Cooper or a mini one and you were looking at older Lupo GTi's then Lupo hands down!!!
