Sad truth is that he has left 2 kids and his wife , ok he was doing what he loved but maybe thee came a point when he should havethought about his family and the effect it would have on them when this day came around.

Shame, very entertaining man to watch. Loved doing what he did, and did it with so much passion.

Shame he left 2 young kids.

Yep Steve Irwin was something of a legend. Top man, done so much for conservation and wildlife, but I kinda wasnt suprised when I heard he had died. Its not really the most risk free job is it?

Legend.

Some very sick people in here.... Good sum up Dave.

Some cool images... I have the up-most respect for this guy. He loved animals and put their needs above human needs, which IMO, is how it should be done. A lot of time and respect for these kind of people.

Big shame, was really good to watch and seemed a decent guy. His career was going to kill him in the end though if you ask me, he was a crazy mofo.

I'm sure there are people out there who will carry on his good work.

Generally they only lash out when provoked or threatened...

who cares who thought it was right or not, he knew what he was doing and probably the best person to judge what was right or wrong

Wound up, or do you mean saved or re-located to an area where they would be safe. Or saving them from getting caught in man made nets etc......?

Admittedly he did sometimes do it to get the Reptiles (don't forget, it wasn't all Crocs, all reptile he done documentries on), but if he hadn't, the western world wouldn't have half an idea of what they really are, how old, how powerfull etc.

Its as great a loss to the animal world as it was when Aryton Senna passed away to motor racing IMO.
