my nan, (his other half) got lung cancer a couple of years ago.
she had surgery to remove half the lung and came through with physio.
Then a year later had it in the other lung.
She died not from the cancer but from complications during surgery which can happen to anyone at any time. a clot went to her bowels and her body shut down. she survived the cancer and died from what was meant to be minor surgery
a couple months ago my grandad was diagnosed the same. he has a heart condition which means he cant have surgery so has just finished weeks of a daily trip to hospital to have chemo. we dont know if its worked or not yet. but i just keep reminding him that it wasnt the cancer that killed nan

The fact that she's got a son who cares so much will help her fight this
In this book Caron searches every avenue possible to find a reason 'why' she got cancer. She blamed things she had done in her past, she blamed things that had happened to her in the past........ but at the end of the day, she never found out 'why'
Its such a moving book, she was beautiful, had a husband who adored her and would have done anything for her, two lovely little boys........but for some reason she developed breast cancer and fought it for seven years

another positive thing could be working with people to find out more about her rare cancer and a way forward for better cures and things in the future

Yeah, i think if i was to do sponsorhsip i'd donate it either to the british heart foundation or some cancer research of some sort...
Was going to do the race for life but totally forgot about it! But would certainly think about doing it next time around!!
Hopefully one day with all the research that they do now a days, cancer can be a 100% cureable disease!

being a non religious person, i dont think god has anything to do with it.
its not even as if it always strikes the people who sort of bring it on themselves, it's random.
i think watching a loved one wither away is worse than having cancer. my dad held his head high throughout his illness, he was the strongest person out of all of us. even now it amazes me how he coped with knowing he was dying
i've done the sponsorship thing, and it didnt make me feel any better but it does for some people.
the only upside of it is, knowing that the person is going to die, the time you spend with them towards the end is more precious, you dont argue etc...
but still, horrible. i dont think i'd cope with it again

If someone close has got it, I think the main thing is to spend as much time with them as possible. I regret not finding out more about my grandads life and spending more time with him. I miss him so much

tis a subject close to my heart
i believe its caused by humans, messing about with chemicals, elements, changing things.
if we all lived in caves, ate food that wasn't treated and then wrapped in plastic, not smoking, no cars etc, we'd be fine..

Absolutely not gods way of trimming the population, no god in any shape, way or form would do that, trimming the population is almost genocide imo.
As for his way of being a T**T, well if you believe that god created man then you could look as cancer as a flaw in his creation.
Our cells are constantly regenerating and dividing, as there are billions of cells dividing occasionaly this process goes wrong and this can lead to mutant or cancerous cells. In a female the tissue in the cervix is most intensely renewed are of cells in the body and thus is undergoing the most frequent cell division, hence why so many women suffer from abnormal cells in that area.
In summary its the cell division that renews our bodies, but due to the numbers and scales involved its all to easy for something to go wrong
In summary if you are looking at the god angle on this, then its just a flaw or mistake in our design and thus god or our creator is not perfect.

I kind of agree with that too. Pollution I think has a lot to do with it.
We have a cement works in our town and some how a few months back they were allowed to burn the waste from the abboitoir. It fecking stunk, how can that be allowed?!

Shelly read my post, whilst its possible enviornmental factors could be partly to blame its damn difficult to run a conclusive research study with a representative population and isolating the enviornmental factors involved.

its just part of the trials and tribulations of being a human being
every generation has a great incurable disease which we eventually find a cure for then another one pops up in its place
evolution
