so your after selling your scoob for something different. surely its going to have to be something fast then if you actually want to enjoy the car. so that will count out the above cars listed. you not looked at supra TTs and other jap cars?

dont forget early golf has the k03 turbo and not the k03s, it runs out of steam so early on in the rev range, a remap will give you a nice peak power figure but on the road it wont be a hell of a lot better.

200bhp with a remap not 210-220? if your lucky.... head design is better, no vvt, bottom end is stronger. can pick up an s3 turbo for little money now, i have one lined up for £200! with a remap should see good power! early ones have the cable throttle too.

My sis has one, its chipped and its pulls well, its on wide 18'' porsche rims which slows it down a bit, even in such a big car and wide tyres it will wheel spin in second, just!
The delivery is very smooth, i liked the ride compared to my corsa, obvisously!

i was the same mate always wanted a xe corsa but i just love my golf its not the fastest thing on the road but i does put a smile on your face evry time i drive it.it will beat a corsa xe so thats what threw the idea of getting one of them out of the window but a let corsa would be fun lol .
only down side it drinks petrol when mapped but i bet the scoob would be worse

My golfs up for sale at the moment. Its already had the money spent on a decent remap. Getting about 230 bhp out of it and its still pretty econimical!

Dunno, i've done Jap for a year, fancy german or somethin now
As for enjoying the car, as long as it's got a bit of power (200bhp after a remap isn't shy) then i'll definately have fun as it'll be a totally different drive to my scooby. I know what the scooby can do now and i miss little scary FWD moment like I used to have in my R5
