im going to uni close to home, nothing really to do with family ect, although i like them; its more fir fiscal reason i meen its bad enough i have to borrow £6000 a year to see my self through uni and that with living at home, wouldnt want the extra cost of living away.

plus im not into the whole getting pissed every night and wasting all my money and trashing my body so would be a waste of time, quite frankly i can think of better things to do than go out and get drunk with people i hardly know, much drather stay at home n go out drinking with my friends i already have.

Kat, you should have really applied before july to the unis you wanted to go - but like said there is a late process you can do otherwise phone up the unis and see what they can do

I agree with seth though - uni is about standing on your own two feet, meeting new people (usually your uni friends are the ones you mostly keep in touch with) and generally having a laugh for three years. Shouldn't be stuck in your home town spending the days with your old farts, hanging around with the same people!

ssj - wouldnt worry about the finances, im about 4k in debt after my first year and it doesn't bother me what so ever, shouldnt let the money determine what uni you're going to, should try and get into the best uni for your chosensubject

ssj £6000

I lived away and never spent over that! including tuition fees and rent

what the hell do you spend your money on and do you not have a job? If I had lived at home I would have kept a job - not jsut borrowed more money

I agree with Dom/Seth though - stayin at home for uni is a big no-no! You need to get away and experience life away

3000 for tuitions fees taken straight away, and £3000 maintenance loan to live on.

yup got a part time job.

money spent on insurance, tax, et car related stuff, and not a lot else tbh, apart from petrol ect.
