how the fuck is turning off the lights gonna cool things down?

if its due to the heat they generate, kindly tell them to gtf and that a pc generates far more. also inform them you will be switching off your pc until the lights are back on.'

also kindly remind them about there obligations to keep an office below 25 degrees as stated by health and safety, and, in the nicest possible way tell them you will be either going home or stripping off and resting your sack on one of the fans. also describe how the sweat is collecting round your arsehole, and that you keep getting getting waves of fish scent drifting over from the womens fanny closest to you.

whilst your on a roll, tell them you have a rare allergy to the heat, which causes you to uncontrollaby think your a gibbon in the jungle, jump across the desks scratching your head, grunting, "me wants banana", explain this was bought about by your great grandad who was ferral, and spent his early years living in the jungle being bought up by apes.

if none of the above works dial 999 and scream fire!

You do know that is very very very illegal. Your eyes will be getting a right bashing you are not allopwed to work on a computer unless it is fully illuminated. I know this because i work at the eye department and we have had a lad claim in the office just thought u woul like to know

exactly.

and looking at your lights there they do not generate any heat ffs.

average 60w light bulb, will generate close to 60w of heat.
Those tubular lights you have in the ceiling (same as us) are approax 80% efficient.

20% of the power used is generating heat.

i would say you are probably generating more heat sat farting.
i would tell you boss to get a life. that is the funniest shit ive ever heard

My other work is so cold it's full of snow and I have to wear a thick Nike ACG jacket to be able to spend the day in there... Though I don't do much there in the summer..

More likely they're turning off the lights to save some money on the energy bill as the air con units are costing so much to run.

As said earlier, you cant be made to work in those conditions.

Our office has the lights out and blinds down - the heat comes from the window glass, PCs, CRT monitors and people - there's no avoiding it in our place - by 3pm its horrible every day its hot.
