yeah i dont like the whole indie thing at the moment its just not my taste, uninspired, obviously told what to wear/sing and blatant rip off of quality bands clash ect and bands already mentioned.
i do tend to stick to music not media hyped, as the music is simply just better.

Good music will always outlast a good image
lol. its the other way round. most great bands fall off the face of the earth cos of lack of publicity
[Edited on 24-07-2006 by Russ]
Thats because by the time their second album is out the music press is bumming another bunch of pretty boys.
If you really think publicity is the key to being the best band in the world then take a look at how many photoshoots radiohead do these days. Great albums dont need hyping... they stand up because of the quality of music... Razorlight ect really on teenage girls making money for their record company

see you say that in a joking way, but there is a hell of a large ammount of people who lisen to music to fit in with a certain scene, whitch is quite sad really.

Whats your problem... listen to what you like... you dont have to take my opinion so seriosly.
I dont like the current crop of manufactured pop/rock bands....... blur, oasis ect was much better pop music than what we are currently served up because they wernt picked from obscurity and named the best band in the world.
They played loads of gigs, worked there way up... then made two really good albums.... razorlight have all this hype and what have they actually produced so far?
2 decent singles, 2 weak as f u c k albums and greasy pillow sheets
goodbye

i have to say, razorlight were brilliant when i saw them (when they were supporting Suede) and i dare say theyve gone downhill since, because theyve got too big for their boots
BUT, listening to their album, is a darn sight better than listening to Sugababes or some other shite pop act

that doesnt mean to say i dont listen to music which is original
and tbh, you telling me that i'm "lowering myself" to listen to razorlight is a pointless comment, its up to me who i listen to
Why make sweeping statements like "absolutely every new band these days just rips off other people". I have put forward why I think razorshite are rubbish... you havnt told me why im wrong..
I will name you some new original musicians if you like?
Why are you getting so angry.. you can listen to what you want.. I just dont see the point in listening to a razorlight album when there is much better music to be buying.
Razorlight dont even make albums... they are just the three singles and a load of weak tracks inbetween... there is no structure to their albums.... look at radiohead, pink floyd pixies ect if you want to see how to put a good album together
got to disagree, there last album was ace, likeld every song and each song was different. I feel your being too anti razorlight for no reason.

goodbye
erm;
golden touch,
stumble and fall
to the sea,
don't go back to dalston
rip it up,
Vice
up all night,
Wouldn't really call that a weak album, not like the other songs on the album are utter shite either. They are good live too.
The new album though can't see it growing on me.

OK.. I didnt buy much new music last year , and I dont listen to much radio because apart from a couple of shows there is no good music played on the radio.
There was no stand out music
for me but these are a few of the best i can remember ..... not sure if they are all last year though.
.The Mars Volta, Frances the Mute
.White Stripes, Get Behind Me Satan
.Beck, Guero
.Gorillaz, Demon Days
.System of a Down, Mezmerize/Hypnotize
.Paul McCartney, Chaos and Creation in the Backyard
. Queens of the Stone Age, Lullabies to Paralyze
.Antony and the Johnsons, I Am a Bird Now
.Neil Young, Prairie Wind
. Damian Marley, Welcome to Jamrock
Also anything Immortal Technique did last year(The best hip hop around)
Anything sage francis did(more incredible original hip hop)

See we can agree on quality..... Get the download of the prison gigs he done... he nearly starts a riot in one of them.. you can hear the prisoners going off in the background.
Hurt imo is one of the saddest most powerful songs i have ever heard... the video is devastating as well..
