yeah no the feeling, i never got EMA when i was at college and struggled whilst working part time.
kind of took the piss when my mate was getting 30 quid a week, and told me he doesnt know how much he has in his bank as hes never needed to take any of the EMA money out to spend; also his parents had just bought him a brand new car.
really pissed me off the benifit system is just shite.

Yep it really is, and they get bonuses of 200 quid every now and then for being good  Anyway don't get me started on benefits of any kind, especially EMA

EMA money 
Im going back to college in September to do instrumentation & measurement + control engineering, Im getting a £4200 student loan + help with paying the mortgage (feck knows how much) I needed a job for a few months so went to the HSS tool hire shop round the corner & asked for one!! Been there 4 weeks now & they have offered me a full time position...which ive turned down!!  Then they asked me if id like to continue on a part time basis once collage starts + full time any holidays if I want!! 
Theres jobs out there you just have to go find them & impress once you get it!!

Don't want anything amazing, just enough for me to be able to afford clothes, going out, petrol and save up for a new car...so actually yea something amazing

Like Jade says find something part time and impress then theyll offer you more hours better pay in holidays etc.

2 of us got taken on...myself & some chav. Ive been offered a full time position (which I dont want) & he's getting sacked tomorrow I think!! TBH im not sure how he got hired in the 1st place...what a tosser, harsh at the job, disregaurd for company equipment & keeps coming in late - pulling sickies!! Waste of space!! I almost melted him in the face with a sledge hammer when he was fucking about with a pressure washer last week. Thought he could get away with soaking me!!

and theres another thing i remeber here's me struggeling to just afford to get into college car ect.
yet my mate gets granted a 300 quid grant every term, and he spends it on a guitar how fair is that.

Student loans not a bad thing imo..........its not really debt like owing the bank money debt!!

its debt that has no intrest really, you only payback what you have borrowed at the rate of inflation, so technically you payback how much you have borrowed and nothing else.
also you do not need to start paying it back till you have a job earning more than 15000 a year, so defo not like a normal loan.

Try like someone said local sport shops, JJB, JD Sports etc, i went and asked to wash cars for the local BMW garage, they said no. I know places such as Matalan, are quite often looking for people to take-ion, try them if there is one nearby.
