Not really rocket science there is it. Even with all the extra power and torque its was still only 1.2 seconds faster than a CTR. More so considering theres cars with less power ahead of the Vectra VXR that are in the same class (like the Mondeo ST)

corsa driver more like . I dont really like the CTR that much, just well annoying when people think its a great idea to say X car is no good by putting it up against a car in a different class altogether. Once you start doing that you could say just about any car ever made is no good, because there almost always a better/faster car in the next class up.

His opinions are tainted and always have been, if people think he isn't on certain companies payrolls directly or indirectly then they're blinkered. There was a time when he had a soft spot for vauxhalls, coincidentally it was the time they were lining his pockets.

already stated in the other thread but no harm in doing it again tbh i think his attitude towards, vauxhalls, american cars and motorbikes is starting to ruin the show. i thought the vxr did damn well to get ahead on the 254bhp 4wd mazda and keep the lead in a straight line. i would quite happily own any 3 of the cars they did in that test as ive always prefered opening the car up on the wider, smoother and straighter roads rather than hacking down twisty country lanes.

Simple really isnt it. Vectra was a hell of alot quicker on the straights than a CTR could ever be. I was ashamed though being a CTR driver lol. Another car for the 30-40 somethings to come flying past in.
Is the Astra VXR on that Top Gear board?
My poor CTR got wasted by a supra big stylee at the weekend. It came from nowhere almost hitting me up the arse (and u say as ctr owners are bad) so I put the pedal down , but it passed me as though I wasnt even moving!!! I had the last laugh though as later that day I shot past it in a GTR Skyline (now thats a quick car).

Seemed to be all over the place when the Stig had a shot!! Agreed you wouldnt buy one for a track but thats how they test their cars all done on the same track = fair!!! Vectra = big motorway cruising sofa & will never be anything else imo!!!

What do you expect? your car is just a 'hot hatch' of course you are going to have 2.8L 24v V6 Turbo high performance exec car come flying past you.

What are you on chavmonkey?
It was later that evening we shot past a red supra same reg and driver looked the same. Mates mum dad own GTR's (yes more than one). Anyone that goes pod may have seen their black 650bhp one with nismo stickers on it. They just got another one imported and registered it Sat hense why they took me out as they wanted to show off their new toy.
I'm quite happy with the CTR as I cant afford to run anything with real power as Im poor as much as you lot go on the CTR is a fun car and will do for now.

Pay him no heed.
