my opinions are based on driving the bloody things so I know I'm not missing out anything! driving them is whats put me off them! cheap cheap cheap! yes now this might come as shock to you as a french car worshipper but they are worse than Vauxhalls Edd end of debate
I haven't driven the New Punto though, its probably alot better than the old ones but I prefer the look of the Vaux over the Fiat. Although not overly keen on the look of either TBH

I've been in one, they seem solid, the 1.3 engine seems great for what I need and you get like 500 miles to a tank of oil

im far from a french car worshipper just because i drive one doesnt make them brilliant
i dont understand then if you've drove them why you drive a corsa,it really is a terrible car probably the worst i've ever drove
(i had a corsa for 2 years btw)

It depends what you want from a car. If you just want something that handles and dont care about anything else then your ok with a french car.
I prefer the look of the Corsa, I prefer the build of the Corsa, I like the way the pedals have enough space between them to be able to operate them without hitting other pedals at the same time, I prefer interior, I like the driving position as it doesn't twist my back and I have more leg room, they aren't the best handling car in the world but its not a track car and its fine for the roads I drive on so this doesn't bother me everything just feels like its gonna fall apart in a french car. We have had this debate many many times before. Our wildly different opinions of what makes a good car wont change

of course your opinions aren't going to change all im asking is that you dont be so critical instantly just because its not a VAG or VX doesnt make them bad cars

I really think the car falling apart argument is flawed these days. I agree that 5 years ago when I got into a Saxo I was very un-impressed with the ammount of plastic there was in it, but these days technology has moved on so much that cars feel a lot more expensive that they actually are. The Punto is a perfect example, so are the new Citroens and I expect the new Corsa to be the same.

/\ agree there ed.
Plastics and textures they use make everything seem so more expensive than it is. No longer are they nasty tin and rubber boxes

I just went to see the Punto. Though a few bits on it, like the seat adjustment knobs and levers were a bit flexable and cheap, and the adjustable steering wheel was very clunky and stiff while adjusting, the rest of the vehicle was very sound. The doors make a solid clunk when opening and closing. The dash is solid and everything feel quality.
I will see what it's really like when I drive it on Tuesday...
