My mate has the RSI which is 1.8 8V. He bought his for £1000 3 years ago and has not had anything go wrong!! Thinkl he must have a good one!!

I have driven it many times! They are great fun! Pissed all over my mate in his Zetec S who thought his fiesta was the fastest thing known to man

That's not a 16v tho is it

I agree they are getting dated now although I used to really like them, build quality and g/box would put me off.

I really enjoyed my 5 years of ownership and would probably still had it if the stuipd bint hadnt pulled out on me.

As said gearbox is weak, handling is spot on, always get attention and are great fun to own. but parts are expensive and you do need to keep on top of the servicing. In the 5 years of ownership i spend well over £3,500 keeping it on the road and that included 3 gearboxes
If you do go to see one look for excess gearstick movement as this is warn mounts as well as rear arches and boot lip start to rust..... sunroof can leak.

Yeah but you wouldnt blame that on the car. I would blame that on the driver.

just replace it with a JB1 box - that'll take loads of abuse.

Seriously though - should be fine if you look after it.
