It's not that it is the fact that the noise is to loud for their old delicate ears
Not delicate, due to the fact that most of them are just plain deaf
Probably that they can never hear cars, so when they do they assume it's speeding
in original post you admitted you were speeding.....
[Edited on 14-06-2006 by lynny_sxi]
exactly, you were speeding about in the wrong gear trying to make a corsa sound good, a little bit of him probably felt sorry for you tbh.

An indicated 35mph, more like 32mph in real life terms, the police don't book you for that

1) you cant justify it by sayin 'my speedo is out', you dont knwo that for certain
2) and yes you can, couple years ago my mam got 3 points for doing 33 in a 30 zone.
End of day if you are speeding they can do you, its illegal, just if its only small amount a lot of time they dont tend to

Sounds like a harley davidson that the BFG would ride
It antagonises most people and makes chav lads wet their little pink panties.

I didn't twist it atall... the way you were talking implied that you never speed even by 1 mph.
Not even an expert could tell the difference between a car moving 30mph and 32mph if they were on the pavement watching IMO.

1) youre first post ends in 'rant over', that indicates you were twisting
2) i never implied that i dont go 1mph over speed limit, i drive a bigger engined car than a 1.2 and several times per month do a 500 mile round drive on the M1, yeah course i dont stick to 70 all the way, but if i got caught and punished, id face the consequences
3) you sai dyou were doing 35, youre assuming youre speedo is 3mph over, no way you can guarentee this, could be doing 38mph and only be showing 35 for all you know

32 is CLEARLY speeding in a 30 limit.
have you not seen that advert where the kis is knocked down because the person is doing 35?
the increase in speed is directly proportional to the stopping distance. if you are doing 32, you are more likely to hit someone than if you are doing 30.
i'm also not saying i've never sped, but i NEVER speed on residential roads, its just not worth it.
