Corb, you may find this interesting. Neil Adams is that Flip Painted, wide arched cossie rear winged Mk2 with a silly power LET. He's at a 13.0 but doign 115mph!!!!! This just shows what a different the inlet temp can make......
Neils car should be running a high 12 and should be crossing the line at 115mph+
I saw mike run the 13.1@105 and i was appauled at the terminal, mike and neil were talking about the time and saying how close it was to a 12 which was a good start but my reaction was that at 105mph something was BADLY wrong with the car, thats sub 350bhp in my books.
I got him to pop the bonnet and i found the inlet to be running at (going by my finger thermometer registering a temp of "ouch") about 80-90 degrees!
I proclaimed that i was confident that what was happening was:
The inlet was so hot the boosted air was thinning out due to expansion, so although it was 2.2 bar or so it wasnt actually flowing the MASS of air it was mapped for and consequently would be running rich and losing power, i also told Neil that the ECU would be forced to MASSIVELY retard the timing in order to keep it free from Det and that would be losing him power too, i said we should get some nitrous or co2 onto the intercooler to combat this.
Matt kindly lent him a bottle of nitrous, and i did the honours on the inlet and the intercooler.
I said i was confident it would be 10mph faster now, and see 75-100bhp more than previously, im pretty sure Neil was skeptical at this point.
Mike went out again in it, and i told him to try and drive it the same as last time, in order for us to see the effects of the cooling.
What this meant though was that as Mike tried to mimic how he pulled away there was SO much more power that it wheelspun quite badly.
The result though, 13.04 @ 115.76 was EXACTLY as predicted.
So all in all, a VERY minor problem, and im extremely confident if Mike had had a couple of practice's with that level of power he would have got back down into the 2.1 region for 60ft (where he was previously) so that would have translated to a saving of .25 seconds off the 60ft alone and the extra speed carried on from the 60ft point should have seen a further .1-.2 come off that too.
So on the day potentially i think with the right amount of practice and the nitrous cooling the intercooler that car should have been running the mid 12s.

to sum up, get some i/c spray and hook it up to blow onto(or into?) my inlet? or invest in Aquamist?

i have some spare temp deisplays....
i battery, 1 wired.... i had one running in the punto showing inlet temps post intercooler

Invest in nitrous if you want the 1/4s fella.
IC spray nozzel to cool the inlet temp as it runs through the IC while standing on the start line.
But as for your power readings, thats WELL down, especially for your spec.

hook up an IC water spray with some ethnol/methnol mixed in. Should cool down the IC a bit....
My Impreza has one, and i plumbed one into my old supra

13.9 seems perfectly resonable for 230bhp. Mine did 14.1s on sunday with 0.5bar boost creeping up to 0.7bar so mustve been around that figure.
155bhp at 7psi aint good tho mate. Let us know what you do tonight.

Take your plugs out and check their ok and the colour? IF thats ok then the engines fine and we're back to the boost issue?
Then its a case of going over all the pipes with a toothcombe

plugs look fine....
is the acutator correctly set?
do you have any sort of boost control?
Done a compression test? (buy a tester!)

just dont trust a cheap compression tester after about 5 uses, the seals wear and they give false readings. they are good to start with though, and worth having

actuator is fine cos its holding the correct boost on the various settings. The boost control is done by the 5 position switch that makes up part of the phase 3 chips.
Compression test is getting done tomorrow night.

do these chips take temp readings into account etc?!
Wouldnt it be much better to just have the fucker mapped for max boost, and run an electronic boost controller
