Face will hurt, but chest cavity being ripped open would hurt slighty more it think.

in the eyes of the law, the seatbelt is required for the driver to be in total control of the vehicle, if you dont wear it, you slide about etc

but in your case, you have proof that you dont legally have to wear one

that doesnt really help, does it?

You answered your own question here.

Write to the local BIB (as high up as possible) enclose your seatbelt disclaimer, and tell them in no uncertain terms to back off or you will take out a case for harrassment.

Copy the letter to your solicitor too. If they continue, take out a civil case against them...

no seatbelt, i'd be worried driving on the road without one. I know you cant but does it not worry you? Also do you buy your cars around which ones dont have seatbelt beepers? Like new Renaults beep for ages unless you put your belt on.

You wouldn't have a case, just be wasting your solicitor fees, if you want piss money up the wall, give it me and I'll buy our lass a new mobile phone.

I had the beeper removed as well as the drivers airbag disabled in my current car.

Wearing a seatbelt is more dangerous for me, hence why a doctor says it is medical unsound for me to wear one. Its not a minor discomfort thing.

Im sorry but that comment is plain stupid.

There are many reason why you can be absolved from wearing a seatbelt in a car, for your own health and other road users safety too.

Your details should be on the police database.....if they are not then a letter should do the trick. Do you see paralplegic (sp) drivers wearing seatbelts?

In cases such as this its police ignorance of the fact that is the problem. the reason I suggested copying a solicitor into the equation is that doing that is the only cast iron way of defence for future actions......in fact in hindsight I would get my solicitors to write to the police.

We DO have rights after all, and I have absolutely no doubts the solicitors costs could be claimed back in this instance
