please please Sven put Defoe in the squad you bald headed heat seeking pissile
Do not take Defoe. Bent should have been on the list waaaaaaaay before that of crouch defoe or walcott.

I dont want to start this arguement all over again, but Crouch offers something totally different to ANYONE else in the squad, Bent doesnt. Hence why Crouch's name should be one of the first in the squad.

cosmo, i agree crouch is usefull. but bent is a premiership goal scorer......exaclty what a team needs in their squad, someone who will be at the far post, off the last defender, up in the air to win the header and score. please take note of sxi16vjoe's comments on bent last night....because he was right. i feel if crouch was playing for another club, you wouldnt stick up for him half as much as you do now....could be wrong though.

got to disagree bent is a very good CLUB player... at international level he just dont cut.
Crouch gives us something diffrent and walcott is a big suprise package and i reckon he will score a couple of goals.

Crouch showed his value in a few spurts last night and took his goal well. I agree bent should have been picked over defoe but please give walcott a chance it's not his fault he's been picked after all.
100% agree with wrighty etc aswell wtf was hargreaves doing on the pitch where the fuck was carrick.
Thought gerrard played that role quite well and beckham had a hell of a game. carragher also played well in an unusual role. at john terry's goal aswell very brave imo

I agree with Cosmo. Crouch has actually made himself useful in both friendlies. He'll be the type of player who comes on if the system isn't working. His flick ons from long balls could prove to be quite useful.

I wouldnt of seen as much of Crouch, so maybe I wouldnt be sticking up for him. I also wouldnt off seen him play with top players week in week out. But Ive had the advantage of seeing what he does on and off the ball ALOT this season, something you dont see on TV and I have been really impressed.
I was really really questioning the signing of him at first, and thought Rafa had lost the plot. But this season he has changed alot of Liverpool fans minds with his performances, and think he will change England fans in a similar way (two goals in coming on in two games)
Bent though, although proven in the Prem, does the same as Owen, Gerrard, Joe Cole, Rooney, etc. can do, he offers nothing different as is pointless having so many similar players in the squad as wont beable to change the game if we are struggling to score.

WTF? Bent has played 60mins in 1 England international against a stuborn uraguay defence that played a deep line. I assume you never watched Bent play at under21 level, he was the fucking nuts, scored quite a few goals, and 2 quality goals against germany at portman road, which i watched. whilst crouch was struggling to score penatlies earlier in the season, bent was scoring every game.....not to forget i saw him score every week when he played for ipswich. why he's been left out is beyond me, good pace, strength, excellent movement, good in the air, and most importantly he can put the ball in the back of the net.
but if england dont want him, that's absolutly fine by me

Cole played excellent last night. Beckham played well too. the rest were pretty average imo, but they aren't going to go all out i suppose.

which is exactly what owen/rooney/lamps/stevie/cole etc.... can all do
crouch will be great to come on with 20 mins left and get becks to pin point his ugly mug

Totally agree with luigi about bent as I have watched him plenty in the U 21's. It's a different level but I also think he should have gone.
I agree with Cosmo though Crouch's name should be 1st on the squad sheet as I appreciate what he brings to them team,

Anyone can play well in the first division (Ricardo Fuller). I agree Bent should be in instead of Defoe (as a stand by) but thats it, he is still unproven against top defenders week in week out (as in he doesnt play Chelsea, Liverpool, Utd every week)

owen cant win long balls in the air to bring others in the game, rooney is unfit, lamps is a midfielder and wont have the preditory instics as bent, same with gerrard, they wont be in the box waiting for the low cross to the back stick or gambling on mistakes from the keeper, which bent does. Cole is the man in form, but again, working the left, he isnt going to do a strikers job.

we dont play like that though. Beckham wont beat a man to put a low ball into the box, and if Cole gets into that position he will take a shot everytime.
I understand where your coming from, and he is a good player. But I just dont think he offers anything different, and thats why he didnt make the squad. If he goes to a big club, plays in Europe a bit and still scores as many then he'll get his chance.

dont really matter what you say.... he aint good enough simple as and we have better players in his position. Owen does what bent does and better so how can you drop owen?
