I'm a member on another forum and one of the admin is a journalist for a not well known tv company (I don't want to say what it is), Derren Brown's 'illusions' are all rehearsed and acted, the actors are paid by the hour and the camera crew have to sign contracts that make them liable if they speak out of turn, and from what I've been told we're talking 7 figures.
I would imagine Blaine does the same.
