when you put it like that it doesnt soun too bad at all.

As in they went a pug dealership looked at the 206, want that one. Cant afford it go to supermarket to buy same car cheaper.

Seems good to me! I would be happy with £20k! Let alone anything more. I was getting paid £16k but its dropped drastically to the point where i need a new job or i cant live

pretty much what happens to him, he just looks on the computer, says, yup. got that and goes and finds it. or lets them drive similar and then gets one from one of their 5 other places, seems really easy as he's doing the same basic job but earns double me. i want a job there!

Nope. I went for 2 CAD interviews here last October, which I never got. This vacancy came up and they asked if I would be interested as they new I was looking for a change of career. Initially took me on on a 2 week trial, I've been here 12 weeks now.

No CAD experience, I don't use it. I have to have a basic understanding of reading drawings, but I read them as a welder anyway.

College in York does IT course and CAD Level 3. Look up your nearest college on net.

Look up wage for site agents, managers, QS's, buyers, estimators etc on any job site & have a seat ready to fall back onto. Then get yourself to college for a year get a basic HNC or whatever you guys in England do & then think about aplying for a job!! Theres lots of jobs out there......uk's biggest employment sector!! Even more jobs & money abroad if it apeals to you!!

Its not easy, I used to be at work 8 - 5:15 every day, college 2, sometimes 3 nights a week 6 - 9:30 & done the asignments at weekends!!

Worth it though to get my foot in the door to a good career

I'm sure it was hard work I just meant that other jobs like quantity surveyors take years of training to qualify don't they?

I'm not sure i'm in the right place mentally to start something lik that just now I think i'll flourish when i'm about 25

You can enter at any level really, most companies like a mixture of graduates & guys like myeslf who worked up the ladder with a few years experience (can actually do the job!!)

Im still working for a subby just now but who knows what the future holds!! You have to be in it to win it & sometimes that does mean starting at the very bottom!!

Yeah I agree, I am like that where I work. My old boss is in the process of setting his own research agency up at the minute might get myself in there if it takes off. I know how much money there is to be made from it £10k for 10 teledepth phone interviews and about 1 days analysis
