The car featured above is not worth £3000 when fixed up, especially not with the damage now.
Sorry don't mean to thread crap, just giving you advice mate. 3k is dreaming for that.

Spoke with the DVLA yesterday and I’m a bit annoyed now.
When We bought the car at the beginning of 2000, we went to buy a new corsa sport, we paid the deposit and got a personal plate put on it, we have now swapped the plate onto my dads merc, and got the S reg plate issued to the car, but since the accident and a few questions from here I phoned the DVLA. They have told me that the car is a 1998 but it was never registered until 2000.
I’m a bit pi$$ed off as if I wanted a 1998 car I would have went out and bought a 2nd hand one, and not to a Vauxhall dealership to buy a new one.
My dads going to see his company solicitor today to see if we can do anything as we feel we had the wool pulled over our eyes.

Thats a bit dodgy if true, but in saying that many cars sit in compounds for a length of time before reaching the dealers & finally sold!! I dont quite get how if its 1st reg'd in 2000 they can now class it as a 98

tax has been sent back as the car is not being used, might as well get some cash back for it, wouldn’t you do the same

I'd probably get it all fixed up before you worried about the plate.

As I’ve said before
I wouldn’t know where to start with fixing it myself, I’m not that clued up with cars, as you can see I haven’t even changed the alloys.
I need a car as I travel from Standish to Leeds, so if anyone here can fix it and would like to buy it good on them.
I’m hoping my dad can get across to a salvage yard just down the road from his work with some pictures of the car today to see what they would give us for it

Yes I do take MasterCard you can swipe it down my ass cheeks lol
If I pay for it to be fixed at a garage it could cost £1000, I don’t know if that’s right or not but I know garages will not do it for nothing, so I’d rather sell it cheep so I can get another car asap

So I wasn’t far away at a £1000, then?? If I sell it after its fixed,
I still have to stump up a £1000 beforehand so I might as well get rid of it now and cut my losses.
I put it on here because I thought someone would have it off me as it is, that could do the work themselves.
Looks like I was wrong

If it wasn't registered untill 2000 then it's not a '98 car it's a 2000 car. It doesn't matter if it was made in 1947, in the eye's of the law it's a 2000 car. Plus there is no way the dvla would know the exact build date.
