the only reason i'm going for g-max personally is that i'm probably only gonna keep the car for a year or so, so i'm not planning on forking out loads of money on suspension which will depreciate like crazy over the year....

gmax handles terribly unless youre on a track. Its the extreme stiffness that causes the problem. The back end gets very skittish over any sort of rutted backroad, tar patches etc.
secondary to that is the fact that you have to factor in the cost of dentures and a replacement spine in a years time.

Not stupid, yes almost similar setup and price range..
I paid my Spax -50mm kit new for £140
and the ride is fine except on bad crappy roads which would be expected
