would it not be like in the James Bond Movie where they ravage the flesh down to the bone in about 5 seconds

Degu are from the Chincilla family

Both live to about the same age which can be several years and both are easy to keep and do not smell at all

Chincilla however are the freindlier of the 2 rodents i would say and degu do need regular check ups on thier teeth as they grow very quick.

Degu are good if u dont have much space as chincillas are more active and tend to run around where as degu just kind of wander about a cage.

Also chincillas are fun to have out the cage as they are great to watch and zip about everywhere

Degu is easier to handle and they tend to sit in your hand like the one in the pic but chincillas dont tend to sit stil for long

Check my garage for more pics and im happy to give advice

That Degu thing looks cool. Often thought about getting a small(ish) random pet. Got a dog already but she doesn't come upstairs anymore as she's old and used to fall down them alot

PMSL

Thanks Kerry. I have quite a big room so I can fit a large cage in there. Is it best to have 2 Chinchillas? Just thinking 1 might get lonely on its own and I can easily get a big enough cage in my room for 2?

Presume they sleep all through the day with them being nocturnal?

Have looked at cages etc. online but not sure how the actual Chinchillas cost themselves as haven't been to a pet shop yet

Think I'll have to go a bit further afield to get a Chinchilla cos I just went to the petshops in town and one of them doesn't sell them and never has done and the other one that used to sell them has stopped selling them for some reason

Think its around 80 quid for a chinchilla, £79 at the pet store up here.
