your not gonna see much on £1000 however you invest it. If you had £10k it could've been a different story.
Just whack it in a high interest ISA or something.
Bonds on £1000 probably won't win you much. I've had mates with £1000 in bonds and never get any 'wins'
My parents have a load in bonds though and regularly get loads of wins come through the posts.

and when they go bust you lose the lot! There is normally a reason shares are so low and its never obvious which will get out of it and which wont without alot more info!

if you have no idea what your doing, no idea of that particular market and how it works, no idea of the company and whats has been wrong and what they have done to try to fix it then its not worth the risk.
But yeah, it can be worth it if you can find the right company, but this doesnt normally happen unless you have inside info on the company (new contracts coming in, etc.) and thats illegal.

Exactly, hence why I said it could be worth the risk

Also don't put money on penny stocks that have gone down to a penny in price.
the only companies that'll be worth investing in for 1p stocks will be absolutely brand new companies.
These of course could go up or could go bust. Whatever happens providing others invest in the company and it does slightly well the price of the stocks should go up at least a little.
There's where your decision comes, do you sell sell sell for not much of a profit or hold on to see if they become the next bt or something.
Obviously £1000 of 1p stocks, of the price of stock rises to £10 a share in a couple of years your sitting on a million worth
the chances are extremely unlikely though.

not many companies go straight onto the stock exchange at 1p a share as they are already trading companies that have just floated. And those that do are normally companies with contracts in place that means their value is already over 1p.

ISA and Bonds are close enough identical for that sum, but with Bonds you might win more.
Also Barclays account as mentioned.
Stocks if you're leaving it for 5+ years and even then its risky.

Premium Bond's are good, but you have to be realistic in the amount you are going to win! You also won't earn interest, but then again there's no tax either!
I have 1k of them, I'm yet to win anything, to stand a good chance I think you need a substantial investment!
I also have an ISA and high interest account. The interest on the ISA is very reasonable - just over 6% tax free.

My mum is getting monthly 'wins' on bonds, not sure how much is invested, but its a hefty amount
if i were investing money, id hedge my bets with premium bonds
