u might also need to hire a whacker. To compress it down can normally get them for a few quid for a day's hire. if not just whack it down with the bakc of a shovel

We'll have something big and heavy and made of metal lying somewhere that I can use. Could always borrow the roller from the farm

Yeah will do. If the weather is good at the weekend I'll do it then. I'm gonna need every spare millimetre I can get soon cos my drive is so steep and I'm lowering it another 30mm
