Can't stop thinking about the Escort.
Realy realy realy want that.
If I hadn't bought a brand new car last September with a loan over 5 years, that chap would be getting an e-mail from me.

Had to get the V8 though.
Was too good an opportunity to miss.
So many cars...So little money.

I will be getting an Escort Cosworth James...
Once i've paid for the Zed, fitted a blower and a set of MOs, sorted the Escort out, and sourced a black or white, large turbo, non sunroof, one owner example that has been garaged since new.
Should only take about 10 years.

to be fair, you;d be better off trying to find a new motorsport shell and doing a Hadland

Very little chance of finding one now though Rob.
Wouldn't want all the hassle of sourcing all the nuts, bolts, screws, clips, loom etc, plus registering it.
Most if not all original M-Sport shells were LHD aswell.
You'd have to buy a trimmed or bare shell and have it prepped by someone like Hathaway Racing to have a RHD car.
I was going to do this about ten years ago and priced everything up, but it was just so expensive to end up with a mediocre or unfinished car that I couldn't justify or afford it.
I'd rather have a complete car that I can improve a bit at a time.
I will deffo have one some day though.
I've just got to clear my debt and get an RS 2000 or a very serious flat-front first though.
I realy need a lottery win to help fund my car habit.
I'm not a greedy man, it wouldn't need to be too big a win. Something moderate like 100k or so would realy help.

100k would be perfect, and i'm not a nosecone fan, flatfront would be better, like that beige one (cough)

Gotta have a nose cone Rob.
Can't be Doyle without a nose cone and a Pye PF8 Pocketphone and a mate with a Capri.

Update:
Look what the Mini went for.
Escort seller should have lowered his reserve.
I'd say he'd have done well to take £3,400 for it as it's based on a basic model.
That said, you can pay 1500 quid for a mint basic car now due to supply and demand issues, so if he paid a lot for the car and spent too much converting it, he may well be owed too much cash to let it go for that.
I'd give him 500 quid if he wasn't so greedy.
