claims like this put me off:

'This ProTech Four-branch tubular race manifold will replace the restrictive standard Cast Iron Manifold and Downpipe, you will gain at least 10BHP once fitted '

'EGR system will have to disabled to fit this manifold' (no it wont)

'Will significantly increase power & torque One of the easiest and most cost effective ways of releasing power from your engine'

What a load of bollocks. on x16xe engines 4-1 manifolds will do virtually nothing (exept lose you low down and mid range torque) without inlet modifications.

lmao well as i z in previous post the rr was tested with 100 cars old and new and was consistant.. so that would be why i have the print out from the day. to be honest i dont care whether you think its bollocks or not. cause i no i my mind and on paper what i got that day. and the fella was pleased with my gain cause he is a rally/race engine builder and knows his stuff. and he work with alot of x16xe.

well if he knows these engines then he will know that the gains are a bit over optimistic.

ive fitted plenty of new inlet manifolds and rolling roaded them. The las one was a standard x16xe that put out 104 bhp on the rollers, fitted a mantzel, janspeed manifold and de-cat with a full blue flame exhaust. made 123 bhp.

mine with a manzel and a janspeed manifold and exhaust made 125 bhp

unless you have other mods like a raised rev limit or an inlet then 120 bhp is rubbish. the standard manifold isnt that restrictive to start with. I only gained 3 bhp @ 7500 rpm from a new manifold and that was with throttle bodies.

to be honest i have spent alot of money getting my power to where it is, as has corsa bob, so were just trying to help you realise that you didnt get the gains you were told you got. im not jelous of your power, far from it in fact

yes we are all jelous of you.

I love seeing people get good gains from their mods, but in 6 years of modifying the c16xe / x16xe engines I have never ever seen one of these engines gain 12 bhp from a manifold. Neither have the following Vaux tuning specialists: SBD, Novatech or Noble motorsport. And obviously myself and Broster dont know what we are on about either.

you must have a special one. lets leave it at that.

im also jealous that i spent lots getting 130bhp from mine with far more than a just an exhaust and filter, if id known i was only gonna get 10bhp with a remap, manifold, decat and inlet, i would have stuck with 120bhp from a standard engine, exhaust and a sock

the sad thing is that you actually put the effort into going onto google to find a pic that matched with your comment

if you dont want people to slate you, and dont care what poeple think then dont post stupid claims on a website full of people that know these engines inside out and what can be achieved with them.

if you are so certain of your gains, post up before and after power graphs. any decent rolling road would have given you them.
(or go search google for some)

surly a pro tec 4-1 is better then a stock manifold tho, cheap enough too?

i read in faq that you cant really feel the difference between a 4-2-1 and a 4-1 manifold?

its better, just!
as previously stated, the standard manifold isnt to restrictive, until you start shoving lots more air in (inlet modifications)
it doesnt matter how the exhaust fumes are flowed out when they're still being restricted to hell coming on.
common sense states more air cant flow out than in...
