thats good to hear, aslong as it does happen.
Just annoying how people slate Man Utd, saying, 'they dominated for long enough', when they built that success and money! They built a brand etc.
Then you've gotta feel sorry for spurs and the like, who are building awesome teams up from english players. And what a top bloke Martin Jol is!
But back to the point. Something neds to be done to stop it happening again anyway.

the only way to stop it would be to put caps on what you can spend during transfer windows, but FIFA have never wanted to do this. You cant say well your too rich to buy a football club and could possibly put too much money in!

i think you can say that. Or i think that the amount of money an investor can put in should be limited. So that clubs can exploit there success and have to build it like utd did.

you cant say your too rich, they could be fans who have followed the team for years!
Only way to limit investment is by spending caps, probably the easiest and best way to go about it. You cant stop someone coming in and spending money on a huge ground or something.

google it, Mittal is richer than Abramovich, as are alot of others in the world.
And the Liverpool board wont sell to someone who wants to do that and will have certain agreements in place.

sorry, i remember being told roman abramovich was the richest man in the world with assetts. never mind tho its worse for the football that lakshmi mittal is going to liverpool.
Noone with that kind of money would want to take over a club and not do a chelsea to make it best team in the world

Im not saying it is mittal, its just one of the names going round. Along with Berni Ecclestone.
You dont need to do a chelsea to make Liverpool as good as them. We already have just a good a defence and midfield (other than lampard) IMO. Its just scoring thats put us 14pts behind as havent won the games we've been ontop of. Need 50mil max for 2 strikers and a winger. He was already getting 30mil anyway!!

if you keep refusing to sell then they will keep offering more if they have to
if you dont sell then your shares will be worth more if liverpool start doing well

not how it works!
If they get to a certain % shareholding then you have to sell them, you've no choice as they issue a compulsuray purchase order. They may let people keep a few shares, one or two. Which will let me keep my perks such as getting tickets before anyone else, etc.

Mentioned this a few weeks ago (before that Spanish guy was linked with us) that Liverpool will be sold to an investor who can easily rival Abromavich in the money stakes.
when you post stuff like that, peeps are bound to jump on the chelski comparison.
Wasn't the stadium funding in place ages ago? If so surely the additional £££ is going to mainly go on players?
Cant see it being a bad thing for the 'pool either way

thats what I posted, the sky sports page?
We will see, but I doubt that we will go and spend huge amounts on loads of players. Rafa wouldnt want to do that and the fans wouldnt want it.
All we want is the 200mil for the stadium, and enough to buy some top class strickers!!
So your telling me if Eto'o, Ronaldinho, Giuly, Deco and Messi all wanted to leave barca and Liverpool had the cash to sweep the lot of them, that they'd only buy 1 or 2 because the rate Crouch more? I'll leave it with ya pal!

funding was in place for the original stadium plan, this was nearly 3yrs ago. Since then there have been ALOT of problems...Got planning permission on time, council who had promised upwards of 10mil towards it (as it will regenerate the anfield area that really really needs it) said it will only give it after we look at a ground share with everton again. We have to talk, dont agree on it, council now refuse the money, steel prices rise by a huge amount, etc. etc. It has put the price of the stadium up by about double, so is more or less out of our budget unless we get extra funding.
So we need 200mil from any investment just for the stadium!! Plus like Ive said before, the board and fans dont want someone to come in and throw 300mil+ at the team, we dont need it or want it.

Firstly, this is something that would never happen. That many top rate players would NEVER become available.
But in the 0.0009% chance it did happen, thats the advantage of having the money there, we could go in for the players that became available instead of Chelsea, Utd, Real, AC, Inter (or barca aswell) getting them. Also though, we would only want Messi, Ronaldinho and Eto'o out of those (probably a nice 120mil!!)

well that many 'stars' are never available at the same time, so its unrealistic what your speaking about. Its like asking if Chelsea would buy the whole top 11 players in the world at the moment...yeah they could, but they firstly wouldnt be available and secondly dont need all of them.
If we get the investment from a huge billionaire (still just rumours) it doesnt mean we can or will spent hundreds of millions on players. We have a squad of current European Champions and fighting for 2nd in Prem. Now if thats a sqaud that needs hundreds of millions spending on them to be winners I would hate to see what a team like Arsenal or Tott need!!

No, no, no your not taking in the point I'm trying to make, I'll explain it another way, I don't care if they'd be available or not this is what I'm asking........
If the said players were available to buy, do you think Liverpool would 'NOT' buy them because of these morals you told us about in page1?
Answer me that question, I don't want any of this "it's not realistic" prattle.
Just the 1 answer will do. Yes or No.
Thank you.

If they were ALL available at the same time (which they wont be) and we did have an owner who would provide the 200mil or whatever to buy them (which we wont) then yeah, I guess we would.
But everything your saying is totally unrealistic. Like I said, firstly this many top class player never become available at the same time. And secondly we dont have a manager or owner (including whoever the new owner is) who will buy everyone who is available.
I know what your trying to say, that if we have the backing and the players are available we will become a Chelsea, but both points are totally unrealistic.
