but tbh, she is probably 16/17 and you could tell her mum and dad (if she has them, i suspect just one), they probably too skank to pay up for anything so will hide her behind the door while u reason, and go away empty handed waiting for months to get about half the money.

or............key your whole car and laquer it, so it looks like its meant to be like that

My brothers car was damaged one night after an altercation in town over a girl. The police were called, came and looked at the damage, I told them who I thought it was, they went round and interviewed the lad, he owned up, we sent him the bill.

That was a slightly different situation in that I was going out with the girl and the lad wanted to, so he got angry with me, but the Police were interested enough.

If she's young she'll either start crying and admit to it when the Police go round, or if someone else did it for her she'll shop them. Depends how prepared she is to lie really.

There was enough to go on, as there is here.

Argument in town then later the car is damaged. There was no history of arguments and no damage the other way, ie. I didn't get involved.

Depends how clear it is. And how good your Police are I suppose.

The key thing here and in my case was that when interviewed, the other person admitted to it. If you're dealing with real criminals its not that easy.

Its far easier to pin something on an emotional teenager.

no point having a go at Ian is there? There are good cops and bad ones...

As much as getting your car broken into is heartbreaking its not going to be at the top of their priority lists is it? Also depends on their resources.

As Ian said i think its down to how you deal with Police I've been quite lucky and given drive by surveillence on my car for two weeks.

Yes and then you may have a chance of getting them to foot the bill.

Then if nothing comes of it, turn a tin of gloss paint upside down on her car roof with the lid off then when she lifts it off paint goes everywhere, if she does not drive just pour acid on her
