We played crap and deserved to lose. We couldn't pass the ball, the midfield was flat with no pressure being put on the liverpool passes and vidic had a nightmare at the back. Congratulations to Gary Neville, Edwin Van der Sar, Alan Smith and Wayne Rooney for being the only United players who looked like they gived a fcuk. Thinking about Smithy and hope he gets better asap. Rant over

Ah but you could look at it like this, if Riise had not of hit the right leg, Smithy would have fell a tiny bit different shaped to what he did, mm's difference that is, enough to save him. Nice try though

I am right in thinking that the bulge in his left shin pad could be something to do with it??

I think the most telling thing was how all the others players around him, right after it happened, (think it was rooney and Van der Sar) looked really shocked and worried. Hope it wasn't a snap like Dave Bussts.

It could be worse - it's his left leg, not his 'kicking' leg, so it should just be a case of getting the bones set correctly then resting it til it heals, then building up his fitness.

If it were his kicking leg, then there would have been the possibility that he mightn't be able to play again.

Still, horrific thing to go through, hope he gets back soon.

Was sad to watch, obviously very very serious, you could tell it looked bad as he tried to lift his head to look at the injury but players held his head back down to prevent him seeing the full extent of it. I wish him all the best with his recovery.

This is untrue, the non-kicking leg is the one you need to look after, as it takes full weight more often, if your kicking a ball, what leg's on the floor?

Bones set to how much load is used, and if metal plated or pinned, bone heals weaker/thinner as the metal takes most force.

Liverpool through and through here

But if you get some sort of kicks about seeing a Manu player with a leg and ankle broken you are a sick puppy
