Leon and S3 yeah..... to a supra

If your after a big easy power RWD coupe..... get the Supra. If you want a quick hatch...... the other two.

Horrible wheels, it was worked on by a company that think it's realy professional to call yourselves M.A.D. , it has leather so is probably a lux with sunroof, hence more weight, less rigidity and potential for water ingress. Oh, and it's RED

White or black one on Racelines or Compomotives with all engine work carried out by Mountune and chassis prep by Hathaway Racing or similar, thank you very much.

Ahh bless

This is the trouble you see.
Too many sh*t cars have been built and allowed to carry the hallowed badge.

Ford have devalued their own masterpiece.

If they'd called everything that torque steered, a Ford Orion, or perhaps more appropriately a Ford Sh*t there wouldn't be this problem.

This is why naive people are mislead into thinking that Escorts are sh*t and not worth the price of admission.

It's only the misbadged sh*t that's sh*t.

True Escorts are a work of automotive genius, they are all associated with motorsport and are the best fun you can have on four wheels for the money.

It is in fact blasphemous to refer to anything that only drives the front wheels as an Escort.

There were only ever actually four versions of the marque, unlike six as some hopelessly deluded fools would have you believe.

MK I

MK II

MK III (RS 1700T)

MK IV (Cosworth)

As regards the price of a Cosworth Escort, unfortunately, Ford in their infinite wisdom did not build enough of these cars, or produce them for long enough to even approach satisfying demand.

The rather annoying result caused by the initial 25k average new price and demand still outstripping supply means that prices are still relatively high.

The same applies to a greater scale with the 2 door Sierra and especially the RS 500, and of course even more so with the 200.

But all that heritage and bla bla bla still wouldnt make me part with 13k.

Talk to me in 10 years time when the floorpan is falling off and then justify the 13k.

I agree they are stunning cars and the engine... well as much as it isnt fords i still think of it as one. Call me naive but i just cant get my head round paying that sort of cash for an escort. You can throw whatever you want into, put whatever spoiler ya want on it and it will still be and always will be an escort.

Give me that engine and put it in another chassis and id have it anyday.
