why have you guys still got the old 2.0 engine? the 2.5 is a markedly bigger improvement over the peaky 2.0
The 2.5 is used on the new UK STI's and WRX's but the JDM cars - Spec C's, spec D's and the S204's are using the 2 litre.
Main reasons are that the 2.5 litre lump is lazier and isnt as well tested.
the 2.5 is meant to be a much better engine than the 2.0, far better low down trque, something the 2.0 doesnt have

This car is as said Jap only, you have to import one if you want one, also they are VERY limited edition supposibly, so you have to get in quick if you do want one new.

Its exactly the same engine with a longer stroke, but like I say its a lot lazier and not as happy to rev. The 2 litre is revvier and peakier which suits the balls out cars a lot better (Spec C's, S cars etc) which arent bothered about torque peaking 500rpm further down the rev range cos they never drop below 5000rpm anyway!
For the UK WRX's and STI's then the 2.5 is a better choice because as you say the better spread of torque makes them easier to drive daily and means they pull from any rev in any gear. The S204 and the Spec C's arent daily drivers.

I think these days the cars are so close its really down to personal preference!
There are a few more variations of the Evo tho (300, 320 and 340bhp versions) whereas the highest bhp Subaru do - In the UK is 301bhp and in Japan 320bhp.
