http://public.fotki.com/G_Sleigh/motor_vehicle_related/motor_car_related_photos/others/crash_photos-1/james_rolph_2004/

just to put an speculation about the saxos structural rigidity to bed

the police estimated his entry speed at 86mph, the car rolled end over end twice, throwing the 3 passengers in the back clean out of the windows, driver and passenger were inside still, all 5 survived, with only minor cuts and bruises and a broken arm

like i said... lift off oversteer is bad

sounds like my roundabout method

approach at 45 in 3rd, clutch in, down to second, brake, turn, slide, power.... wheelspin, up the road at the 3rd exit

so much fun

i cant wait to have fully restored power

I used to slate saxo's as well, always going on about how they are soo similar to 1.4 Sports etc etc When i first drove one I soon realised how even a VTR would be same if not quicker than a 1.6 sport.

Having driven my brothers on many an ocasion I love it...handles well, quite more comfy than a lowered corsa and adequetely nippy.

Granted their build quality is slightly iffy but they are a hoot to drive and surely thats the main objective of owning a car?

JR did question me when i told him to have fun with it

Must agree, my mates saxo, lowered 60mm or there abouts on 16" alloys, it handled fecking awesome.

The thing stuck like glue around round-abouts, little understeer as well, miles better than my corsa.

Ok the panels are thin, dont stand a chance in alot of small cars, but like jr says, be nice to thrash one around a track!

just genrally driving feels alot more intresting than the corsa, and are so much better than i thought originally

doesnt feel as stable, corsa feels much more sure footed but saxo turns in so much better

would love the opertunity to drive one round a track

Next you'll be telling us that the Metro 1.4 automatic is the fastest car ever built, and that the fiat punto gt is an inspiring drive and a well put together and masculine car Jimbo

have to agree i own a saxo vtr, great laugh wish i could have afforded the insurance on a vts but was too steep.

interior is basic but that doesnt bother me one bit i would have got a different car if it did, handles brilliant, has a great engine, decent poke for motorway driving and looks nice standard.

as for build quality i have found it no worse if not even better than my old corsa

My mate has a 52 plate VTS in blue. The only downside i see in these cars are the interior, he had a VTR before hand and noticed a lot of rattles and this is the same.

Engine wise he hasnt had the luckiest of times but had waranty, he had to go back twice for the same fault which was the exhaust maniflod rattling, plus PAS pump went.
Overall though very nippy cars for the money

Prefer my corsa though

As I've gotten older I start to like them more, would'nt have a VTR totally gay, but a VTS or 106 GTi appeals to me.
