You cannot leave out Joe Cole, he is the only other player other than Rooney who can create a goal out of nothing, and he gives 100% all the time.

Agreed Ollie,

Early last year i would of said Joe Cole shouldn't be in the team but "oh boy" has he improved !!

1. Robinson
2. L, Young
3. A, Cole
4. Terry
5. Campbell
6. Gerrard
7. Beckham
8. Lampard
9. Rooney
10. Defoe
11. J, Cole

This would be my team, i know everyone won't agree with me but i think Young is better than Neville, i think Campbell is a better DEFENDER than Rio and i also think Defoe will be better for us in the world cup (and fitter) than Owen.

Obviously I would take them in the "squad" aswell and i would also 100% take Wright Phillips, to mostly come on in the second half !

I would also be tempted to play with just Rooney up front and WP behind him floating all over the place with his speed but not sure it would work in the world cup.

Darren Bent should have been given the chance to play for England, and who know's he could have been considered for the world cup.

I agree with Greg. Better than Luke Young is his brother and cherries extraodinair (sp) Neil Young.

Not really. If I was in charge I would take it seriously instead of pissing around.

Mike, can you tell the difference between people being serious and people messing around

Why ?

I don't agree that Screetch from Man Utd should play, he has been injured for a long time and i don't think his running forward from defence (cafu like) is very good.

Yes he is a fairly solid defender but thats all he is, he doesn't offer anything else like Ashley Cole does on the left flank.

neville is always down the wing and his crossing is good.

luke young is a totally average player. that will never make a world cup winning team

Robinson

G Neville
Terry
Ferdinand
A Cole

Beckham
Gerrard
Lampard
J Cole

Rooney
Owen

As simple as that.

If you want to play a holding midfielder then

Robinson

G Neville
Terry
King
Cole

Ferdinand

Beckham
Gerrard
Lampard

Owen
Rooney

And if we are 2-0 down at half time and need some goals

Robinson

G Neville
Terry
A Cole

Beckham
Lampard
Gerrard
J Cole

Rooney
Crouch
Owen

Young is a lot younger so less experienced. I prefer him to neville. yes neville has won more medals but i think united could have won them without him

Basically, you prefer neville because you are a united fan.

Ollie If i wanted to play a holding midfield player i wouldn't have king in defence and Rio holding that role

Also if I wanted some goals I wouldn't bring on CROUCH, i would bring on pace and speed, like WP & Defoe

defoe certainly deserves more chances. crouch is a total joke, and we could just use a lampost instead.
