one other thing if its not already been mentioned,
Single occupency (easy to fool them ) enables you to 25% discount and 50% if your a student.

Its not done on the value of the house or the size, purely the area band in which you live in:
Take a look at This Chart for my local area to see what ive said is true.

depends.
I was technically 'living alone' but my girl friend at the time lived their about 5/6 nights a week.
If someone is living their perminatly and they have all their bills sent there it might be slightly dodgy.
My GF was having her bills sent to her mums still.

Gg_mf, do what bart said.
i do it with my girlfriend, we pay only £74 a month on tax.
we also have all our bills sent to our parents houses.
we get a 25% discount.

Or every bill could be just in one persons name and then when it comes to paying bills time the other one just gives the bill payer some cash.

no wont have been me!! ive got a piddly 1.7D passed you/him a few times tho!

its a nightmare for 1st time buyers at the moment i dont envy you!
only thing i would say is if it came to the crunch i would buy rather than rent! especially round here as you will make on the house you buy and renting is dead money!

hope you find somewhere decent tho! if i pass you again ill flash me lights or something (white T reg)

Ok cheers thanx. lol at piddly (better than 1.2) haha yes I would rather buy at least you know that the money your putting in to the house is for your own benefit and not somebody else's back pocket. Yes i agree at nightmare, seen loads i like but i dont know if we would get a morgage on houses around 80K

if you both work full time then you might manage it!
try Abbey national and Yorkshire building society! you can do both (i think) online applications to give a rough idea on what you could borrow! as long as you know your yearly earnings for both of you!
