Can't believe someone picked up a 220 for 80 grand!

I know it's LHD, but it's an almost mint, silver one with everthing, including ludicrous mileage.

Also can't believe it was sold on bloody ebay

Someone's deffo got a bargain.

Would have expected double that for it.

It was 100k actually Tom.

It was similarly unique in as much as it also had negligable mileage, and had been garaged from new by one very fussy owner.

The car would have cost 55k new, and, especially with it's history and the even more limited numbers of the model, could only have gone up in value.

Was originally supposed to be 4wd, and fitted with a 6.2 litre 48 valve normally aspirated V12.

That's why so many owners were so peeved when the XJR15 went on sale for less money than the 220 and with a closer spec to the 220's original design brief.

It wasn't all bad though because the 220 ended up with a force induced adaption of the 6R4 lump which actually produced more than the claimed 500 bhp output in the brief for the original 220 spec.

The car is big especially for a small capacity turbo engine (hence all the lag), and it's extremely wide.

It's just over seven feet, which means it will not fit through a width restriction.

Seen a few on the road over the years and they are awesome, but a bit civilised compared to the dark green racer (the 220C) which is just plain menacing.

Saw it at the Bromley Pageant when it was new, and used nearly a whole roll of film just on that.
