Might have a problem here. Insurance quotes range from 4k to 9k.

Drove it today.

Can get insured for 1700 ish.

Very agricultural driving experience, heavy clutch and clunky gear stick, was better when I got more used to it but still had to think a lot what gear to be in, watch the speed as I'm not familar with how it feels and didn't know the roads. Choosing a ratio is a pain in the ass as well. All needs getting used to I suppose.

Its an ex-Vauxhall press car as well I think, which explains why Pistonheads had it for a bit to write this - http://www.pistonheads.com/doc.asp?c=47&i=8990

Exact same car, which was a bit bizarre. I think I'll miss the Astra too much though, on easy days driving a front wheel drive car with less gears, which doesn't require as much effort.

I would certainly love to own it, and I would be happy to use that for a bit, but I was happy to get back in the Astra.

About the reg? Probably don't need it!

Monaro is considerably faster, just doesn't feel it.
