If you get the 106 you'll just pour even more money into that

Keep the Corsa or get something bigger/better

if your swapping mate, dont get a gti. you'll miss the build quality. also there is no room inside them, there tiny. my opinion is keep the corsa , loose the sterio and the re-trim cost and C20LET it, and say bye bye to gti's, infact say bye bye to almost anything

Might just plough all my money into a tuned XE

Good point with the Let Col, but that %k would be over a long time, slowly finishin off etc. But i reckon and Xe would be enough considering how much it is modifed already. Little bit of tuning and shouldthen have somebit to go with the looks

handling was ace, very powerfull, nice leather/alacantara seats, providing it's well maintained a very reliable car

do the mods I mentioned and I would expect at least 150 bhp in something that weighs feck all

good man, an xe would nice in yours. my mates got the courtenay chipped ecu on his xe and with a good exhaust (blueflame) its a fast reliable little rocket. its for sale at the mo, he had it on the mig stand last year a pv and managed a 14.1 1/4 mile. a realy nice car.

good luck with it all mate

if u plow like another 3-4k in it ur never see that money again, buy a decent car with decent power for like 5k adn u wont lose soo much money, plus reasurance that it will b reliable rather than an xe.

i dont understand...... people must be putting fooked xe's in there cars to say there unreliable. my C20LET has done over 100 thousand miles and looked after its never missed a beat. also loosing money is'nt realy an issue when it comes down to a hobby of builing a car that makes youhappy as an individual

XE the corsa - your Corsa is very nice as it is.

If you had a standard Corsa, or a heavily gay kitted one - I'd say go for the Gti.

The Gti is rather rapid, when it has a few mods (though only on par really with a XE).

Some dick head was going slow infront of me for ages, then when we turned onto the dual carriageway he just stayed in the outside lane doing about 35 mph

Hard acceleration through 2nd gear (I love this gear) down the inside of him, into 3rd, and overtaking some traffic in the inside lane.

Within a couple of seconds I had gone from being far behind, zooming past and miles ahead

Yes you have to rev the hell out of it, but I like it

Col knows the score
Its a hobby and yes i would spend more money on the 106 making it look as nice as my Corsa. Cheers for all the comments peeps, some very valuable opinions here, especially from those who have/had them

as said above there are alot of pro's and con's of owning a gti over your corsa but the pure fun factor of the gti wins it for me
