credit score is not the same as credit rating

if you didnt mean there credit score it means you didnt meet thier criteria. companys look at all different factors when making up a score on an applicant even down to job title i.e the better job you have the better score

when you apply for loans, mortgages, credit cards ect companys use their own score as well as a credit check with experian or equifax sometimes both

they look at 3 years address history, time with employer, job title, income, commitments ect

your credit score may be fine but you may not fit in thier criteria in other ways that my by why they refer to their credit score

might be worth getting a proper equifax report done on your address to check noone else had got bad credit which will affect thier decision

Egg also declined me a top up on my loan.

Although I think it's just down to the fact that my credit rating is probably crap and I move around a lot, home and job wise...

I spoke to Virgin card a while ago about upping that but the minimum payment is a fiver and I had only been with them for one month. So she was like "sorry we can't do that we need some payment history", so I asked if I should call back in another month when I would have paid off a whole tenner, she was like "Um.... no."

Getting credit these days is a joke. Even if you pay everything on time, you are still penalised if you haven't had the same place and job for like the past 5 years or something!
