Why can't people be pale in winter? if people have a tan during this time, everyone knows it's from sunbeds anyway.

Not necessarily.
Used with daylight lamps/bulbs she may only wish to use it once or twice throughout the whole winter. There are other methods to help s.a.d other than light therapy its not like jambo is saying this is the only thing she would try

A tan in winter can be from natural tanned skin, a tanning moisturiser or fake tan not just sunbeds

Thank you CCA
My girlfriend doesnt even know anything about sunbeds, she doesnt knoiw ive even thought of trying it. Its simply to try and improve her current state as shes very miserbale.
I wouldnt let her use them all the time, i just want her to do it once or twice this winter, not to look jamaican but so she can absorb some rays her body would like to make her feel happier!
I just think it may help SAD.
She would take all precautions, and as i have allready said i do not agree with them, i just want her to do the odd session to keep her topped up i have been to robert dyas to purchase a daylight bulb allready
Im looking for a lot of little ways to contribute to a big change in her mood.
Thank you for your help,

I don't know why people are getting a bit deffensive, because i never meant to offend anyone. I was just giving my oppinion on it. It's up to everyone what they do in their lives, i was just giving advice that's all. You sound like you really care about your gf, so i hope you sort it out.

since September my mum and dad have, spent a week in Marbella, a long weekend in Majorca, 2 weeks in Mauritius and got another holiday booked for 10 days to Teneriffe at beginning of December.
Is their tan from a sunbed?!

What do your parents want?? a Flippin' medal for going on all of those holidays!??? Jeees. I only meant alot of people's tans aren't real this time of year. Jambo asked for advice on sun beds, i gave it so STFU.

no need for a medal, the holidays were enough.
But alot of people do go on holiday over winter, alot of people manage to keep their tan over winter, so saying that why would you want a tan over winter as its probably from a sunbed is just a silly arguement against not using them.

Cosmo shut up, Katie has said why she said what she did.
There is no need to keep arguing the same point over and over

Oh god, read the posts, i was suggesting it doesn't matter if your pale over winter, nobody is expecting everyone to have a tan over winter!! I was just giving my advice on sunbeds, i don't agree with them because of skin cancer, simple as. I don't really care what colour your parents are!!

I use UV light but I am covered up head to toe
the people to work with you just tell you to do this as dont want to look at you!
UV radiation is absorbed in the outer layers of the eye - the cornea and the conjunctiva - and its action is acute. Conjunctivitis may occur 3-12 hours after exposure to the radiation and last for several days. Additionally, in the short-term, irritation of the skin of the face, hands and forearms can cause erythema (reddening of the skin). Severe exposure can have long-term effects and lead to cancerous conditions.

I go on them all the time, I know they are bad for u but I still do it
Always use a cream though, as they can burn your skin and if u dont use a cream u dont even tan your skin goes red then it goes away and u look no different
I go on for 10mins each session about 2 or 3 times a week
